My e-dive log.

Dive Number 33

Ledges of Little St. James, St. Thomas
January 16, 2014

Depth: 37 ft.
Time: 40 minutes
Weight: 8 lbs.

Although the weather was gloomy and overcast, it was a beautiful day under the sea. I saw three stingray, another huge lobster, more trumpetfish, and an octopus hiding in a rock but we couldn’t get him to come out to get a real look. Maybe next time!

Dive Number 32

Fish Bowl, St. Thomas
January 16, 2014

Depth: 74 ft.
Time: 50 minutes
Weight: 8 lbs.

Our instructor/master diver was Ash from Red Hook Dive Center. This was my first dive without my scuba diving buddy but our friends Steve and Patty were there. I saw a huge lobster, trumpetfish, porcupine puffer fish, an eel, a trunk fish, and another nurse shark hiding under a ledge of the reef.

Dive Number 31

Balboa Wreck, Grand Cayman
January 5, 2014

Depth: 35 ft.
Time: 50 minutes
Weight: 8 lbs.

This dive site is a wreck of a dive wreck, meaning that the ship is in scattered pieces. This was more of an unguided dive so we explored the area and even had a little hand stand contest. We saw juvenile spotted drum and porcupine puffer fish.

Dive Number 30

Blackie’s Hole, Grand Cayman
January 5, 2014

Depth: 110 ft.
Time: 35 minutes
Weight: 8 lbs.

2

Our instructor/master diver was Tripp from Divers Down. We saw a lot of lionfish, a stingray buried in the sand, and a cute sea turtle just hanging out.

Dive Number 29

Kittiwake, Grand Cayman
January 4, 2014

Depth: 60 ft.
Time: 30 minutes
Weight: 8 lbs.

Our instructor/master diver was Kevin from Divers Down. I enjoy this wreck because exploring the ship is fun. We touched a sea urchin, which slightly sucks onto the palm of your hand, and we saw a midnight parrotfish, which is a fish that is a beautiful blue color but has an ugly horse mouth.

Dive Number 28

La Mesa, Grand Cayman
January 4, 2014

Depth: 58 ft.
Time: 45 minutes
Weight: 8 lbs.

Our instructor/master diver was Julia from Divers Down. We saw two cute little sea turtles, my favorite!

Dive Number 27

Easy Street, Grand Cayman
January 4, 2014

Depth: 102 ft.
Time: 30 minutes
Weight: 8 lbs.

Our instructor/master diver was Marcos from Divers Down. There were a lot of colorful tropical fish around the reef including a beautiful gray and yellow angelfish.

Dive Number 26

Royal Palms Ledges, Grand Cayman
January 3, 2014

Depth: 60 ft.
Time: 45 minutes
Weight: 8 lbs.

Our instructor/master diver was Bob from Divers Down. This dive was typical.

Dive Number 25

Holiday Inn Drop Off, Grand Cayman
January 3, 2014

Depth: 105 ft.
Time: 35 minutes
Weight: 8 lbs.

Our instructor/master diver was Marcos from Divers Down. We saw the usual – barracuda, lobster, angelfish, and we finally found Kermit (the big green eel)! There was also a cute and friendly nurse shark that swam around with us like part of the dive group! Oh, and this was my first dive using my new regulator.

Dive Number 24

Ledges of Little St. James, St. Thomas
July 5, 2013

Depth: 40 ft.
Time: 50 minutes
Weight: 8 lbs.

This dive site had more fish than the other reefs because fishing is prohibited in the area. We saw a porcupine puffer fish, Caribbean lobster, spotted eagle ray, nurse sharks, and a lot of trumpetfish.
